Digital Bibles Framed Poems The next gift Paul mentions is the gift of interpretation of tongues (v 10). This gift is someone who is able to interpret another tongue or language. I am bilingual and can speak English and Spanish but I would not say that I have this gift necessarily. Some have a natural gift or ability to learn a foreign language. It was not natural nor did it come easy for me. For those who this is easy, then they may be imbued with such a gift. If anyone was speaking in tongues in the church, there absolutely had to be someone there to interpret or they were to be silent. And no more than one person was to speak in tongues because there is only one interpreter available to translate at a time. If several were speaking in tongues at the same time, there would be confusion and God is not the author of confusion, but He is the God of order (1 Cor 14:33). It would not be edifying the church to have several speaking in tongues at the same time and with no one to interpret. Tongues are a sign for unbelievers and not for the church. Paul writes, “In the Law it is written: ‘With other tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.’ Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers” (1 Cor. 14: 21-22). Isaiah 28:11-12 is where Paul quotes Isaiah the prophet, “For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, ‘This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.’” This clearly indicates that the gift of tongues (Greek for languages) and the interpretation of them is that of a known language as a witness to unbelievers.
If you are a bit jaded about Christmas (like we all can become sometimes) I encourage you to really step back and try to become joyful about your giving.

But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
In spite of man’s sinfulness, Scripture affirms that God’s image remains intact. There are a few passages post-fall that still reference God’s image in man:

In simple terms, the Northern Renaissance started with a bang, rapidly establishing itself as the foremost school of oil painting, and thereafter gradually declined. The altarpiece art of painters like Jan van Eyck (see his Ghent Altarpiece, 1432) and Roger van der Weyden (Descent from the Cross, 1440), as well as the unbelievably intricate works of Hugo van der Goes (Portinari Altarpiece, 1475), were rarely equalled, except by the extraordinary visionary pictures of Hieronymus Bosch - see Garden of Earthly Delights and Haywain Triptych - (avidly collected by the austere Catholic monarch Philip II of Spain), and the complex genre paintings of Pieter Bruegel the Elder (Census of Bethlehem, 1566; Massacre of the Innocents, 1564; Parable of the Blind, 1568).

Price: $9.99 News and Media 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Fri, Aug 10 June 30, 2012 at 6:03 pm It is First Communion season again. If you are from a big Catholic family like I am you have a whole other round of cousins, godchildren, nieces, or nephews that will be participating in First Communion this year. Being the creative person that I am, I wanted to give a little piece of artwork with my gifts this year. I thought it would be a great way to remind the kids of the special sacrament that they get to participate in and would be a thoughtful way for them to individualize their rooms. I chose a scripture that I thought paired well with their gift, wrote it on card stock with a calligraphy marker, added to it with markers or colored pencils, and framed it. Don’t worry if you are not an artist, there are plenty of people who can create word art for you on etsy.

Every year that is exactly divisible by four is a leap year, except for years that are exactly divisible by 100, but these centurial years are leap years if they are exactly divisible by 400. For example, the years 1700, 1800, and 1900 are not leap years, but the year 2000 is.
So gather If you wanted to be baptized with the Holy spirit, gather 2 or 3 believers of Jesus Christ and pray to Jesus Christ to validate testimony of John the Baptist to baptize you with the Holy Spirit. If testimony of John the baptist is credible, Jesus Christ will confirm his preaching and the Holy Spirit will comes as promised. So try it.
Early in the 20th century it was thought that Christian art and architecture began after the death of Christ or, at least, in the second half of the 1st century ad. But later discoveries and studies showed that a truly Christian style did…
